Navigating the special education process and ensuring your child's educational needs are met can be challenging. As your education advocate, we bring expertise in the field as veteran special education teachers and trained education advocates. You know your child best, and you have the right to be an equal partner in the decision-making process. We will work with you to obtain the support and/or services your child needs to ensure a free appropriate public education in the least restrictive environment.
The process of obtaining services for your child involves several steps outlined in the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act of 2004 (IDEA), beginning with suspicion of a disability, referral, assessment, determination of eligibility, development of an IEP (Individualized Education Program) or Section 504 Plan (rights under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973) and continuing on to progress monitoring, amendments, and annual reviews. These steps are guided by federal law and state and local regulations. Whether you are new to the process or have a lot of experience, we can work with you and provide information, support, and assistance to meet your needs and the needs of your child.
Available services include comprehensive record review and summary, IEP and 504 review/development, Functional Behavior Analysis (FBA)/ Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) review/development, data analysis, and meeting support.
